Piano/Keyboard Music Instructor
School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. As a Music Instructor you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within the lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. The Music Instructor positively embodies rock and roll and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and life skills.
Music Instruction:
- Maximize the quality of music instruction through private lessons and show rehearsals
- Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method™
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our patented teaching Method, Books and Method App
Customer Connection:
- Communicate with parents on the progress of students by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice
- Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible while at the school
- Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
- Assist in rehearsals and with the upkeep of lesson facilities school
Skill Requirements:
- 2 + years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Passion for teaching
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Early childhood development skills preferred
- Strong customer relations skills. Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers
- Strong organizational skills
- Resourceful; good problem-solver
- Works well under pressure
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

School of Rock in Tucson, AZ is proud to serve the Tucson community—as well as surrounding areas like Oro Valley, Vail, East Tucson, South Tucson, and Catalina Foothills—with a revolutionary music education approach. Tucson is the hometown of Linda Ronstadt and we believe the local area continues to be a great place for budding artists. With lessons from our expert instructors, students can learn to rock out on guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and vocals across every genre including rock, pop, blues, soul, funk, and R&B. By jamming in a band together with friends while learning to read and play music by ear, students gain the confidence to truly be a rock star. Our students perform at community-based events and festivals like the 4th Ave Street Fair and Tucson's Walk for Alzheimer's. Our students also regularly play at local establishments like Hotel Congress, On the Rocks, and more!
